"This image was one of my earlier portraits. My sister is playing the role of Hendrickje Stoffels, Rembrandt’s mistress and maid. She is still wearing the same African dress as a way of showing interconnectedness. The sensuousness and seductiveness is portrayed through her pose. In the tradition of Rembrandt, I celebrate the complete human experience, demonstrating  that even in the quietude of domestic life, there is profound beauty and significance."
