"This portrait of Kimberley Pikinini seeks to capture her inner strength and resilience, qualities deeply rooted in the Zimbabwean spirit. Our nation is defined by mobility and mixing, and Kimberley embodies this dynamic energy. Furthermore, this image is aimed to explore the idea of reclaiming urban landscapes and using photography as a vehicle for connection. In this instance the photoshoot almost became performatiive because the people who were in the surrounding areas wanted to take part and they quickly swarmed around the model because of fascination in her oufit which they had never seen before. The idea of the dress existing beyond the frame and being animated instead of frozen."
