Hānau (Birth) Collection
Hānau directly translates to birth. This collection is 100% glass. It is based off the legend of Pele (Hawaiian goddess of fire). In the ancient oléo (stories) instead of saying Pele created the islands it is said she birthed them. That is where the collection’s name comes from.  The texture is finely crushed black glass which I apply to the surface then meticulously melt until I achieve the perfect texture. This represents the spiked lava called A’a. Once cooled down I will grind through the black texture with multiple bits covered in industrial diamonds. This reveals the color and pattern beneath which is made from hundreds of different little pieces of colored glass.
