Manfred Mohr’s Liquid Symmetry (2020) uses an algorithm to project diagonal paths through an 11-dimensional hyper-cube into 2D, shown as thick white and thin grey lines. A red symmetry line connects endpoints to the workspace’s boundary. White lines are randomly colored, while grey lines stay solid. Over 25 seconds, the paths rotate in 11 dimensions, leaving color traces. This work builds on Artificiata II (2012-15). The triptych, printed on inkjet paper, features the red line but omits the symmetry bend.
